And they always have to end with a disclaimer sentence...like they are too good to review these movies..."A total trashfest it may well be, but for a series looked on as a Maplins Terminator, it’s indecently entertaining."

French review by Marc Toullec (journalist who used to write a lot of articles about Dolph's and JC's movies in Cine-News and Impact magazines back in the day)

finally a saw the movie.

I think the movie is a good one. (fight's, acting ). The DOP and the outside locations are not so good for me,I wish more alternations in the movie just the factory is to less.

I give the movie 6.5 / 10

I think its due to the budget limitations Hyams went for couple of sets then more but poor ones.
You can see recent VD movies on low budget which are quite big in the story/action/locations and they just look cheap.
Undisputed movies look much better but most happens in one place.
that is why I think JCVD, US3 look the best of recent VD movies done on similar bugdet then the likes of UD, SIC.

Great action film, but weak characterisation for Luc. The only good characterisation was Andrew Scott. Had Lundgren been given a few more scenes it would have really lifted this film a lot. AS it was his role seemed under developed, and way to short. His end, following his meeting with Luc, came way to abrubtly. It needed at least a LITTLE bit more dialogue.

In spite of the amazing amount of action I did find myself getting bored a few times. Notes for would be directors - this is where a good "storyline" and interesting "characterisations" come in....

Not impressed with the discontinuity with part 2, and it lessened my enjoyment.

I do get the feeling this was written as a script that did not have Van Damme or Dolf, and that they "grafted" their characters onto it later. It seems to me that the original write of the film probably had Pile's character vs Arlovski as the finale. My guess is Pile would have had a bigger role in this first script, but that he was reduced to allow the inclusion of Luc and Andrew Scott.

one of van dammes best DTV action movies since decades i loved it,this movie rocks as hell for me.van damme is a one man killer machine the fight scenes were amazing violent this movie is a action fest pur.the van damme vs Lundgren fight was one of van dammes best fights since ages, and the dop did a brilliant job.i liked the sound in the action scenes and the locations suited the movie John Hymes did a amazing job.the only negative were i have is that van damme was doubled, for the knife-kick training scene and for the jogging scene in the labor.and i noticed that JC was doubled for some high kicks i was very dissapointed, JC could have make this things without a double this was embarrasing to see as fan.anyway US3 is now a new favorite van damme movie for me i will buy it.iam ready for US4 i can`t wait to see van damme as bad ass.

i give 8,5/10

just watched it, and i must say i was quite disappointed, 1 & 2 were great, but this one is just plain boring, in fact i would almost go as far as to say that even SIC is more entertaining....
